On Saturday October 19th I made the decision to switch to Linux from Windows 11 as I had planned to anyways, so I made a Ventoy put the Project Bluefin ISO on there, and wiped my NVMe via the BIOS and installed Project Bluefin (From now for simplicity I’ll call it Bluefin)
Once I had installed Bluefin I started downloading the essentials of a new install, I didn’t have to worry about drivers or anything as I selected them to be installed in the ISO as that is done through the Bluefin site,I installed Steam via the built in flatpak store and logged in and started installing games, all worked fine.
Until I reached Forza Horizon 5, which came up with an error which said “Installation path is too long” which was fixable but little did I know how long it would take to get working, after multiple attempts of different stuff over a spread of days , Last night (October 26th) Me and my dad sat down at my desk to try solve the issue, we created a new library, moved Forza Horizon 5 into there and we got a “Disk Write Error”.
I updated the system, restarted and opened Steam and got same error then we went to FlatSeal as Steam wouldn’t open (wasn’t first time Flatseal caused Steam not to open) but we went to Library2 as we called it and hit “Repair Library” and we knew all files were already in the folder we set as the new library and it all checked fine after checking file integrity, loaded it up ran some benchmark and all ran fine
Error we got is below:

Overall my experience with Bluefin so far has been good as Forza Horizon 5 has been my only issue so far (Of course its a Microsoft game) and it has been quite a pleasant experience as my first proper Linux “Daily driver” and I believe (despite my dad despising GNOME with a slight passion and Bluefin being GNOME based) that I will continue to use Bluefin for a good long while as I find the experience, movement and malleability, may not be as customizable as KDE based distros but I find it pleasant to use.
